Q1.
Are the rumors true about a Faces reunion tour?
A. I get asked this question more than any other, so here's the answer from
the horse's mouth. Mac says 'Never Say Never'. They've been talking about
the possibilities and would really love to play together again, but
scheduling between their separate careers is proving difficult.
Q2. Is there a Faces box set available?
A.Yes! The Faces 4-CD box set Five guys walk into a bar... containing 67 tracks and liner notes by David Fricke, Ian McLagan and others, including many live, radio performances, plus umpteen unheard tracks was released in 2004.
Order a signed copy TODAY at macspages.com. Drop by Faces central for Box Set news, reviews, and track list details.
Q3. When is the new Bump Band CD coming out?
A. Never Say Never is out NOW! Signed copies are available exclusively at maniacrecords.net. Join the Bumpzine for the latest Bump news, CD releases, and tour announcements.
Ian McLagan Says 'Never'
In December of 2007 Ian 'Mac' McLagan and Glyn Johns, his old pal from Small Faces and Faces days, met at Sphere Studios in London to mix and master Ian McLagan's beautiful and emotionally raw CD, Never Say Never. The self produced and directed album features McLagan's award winning Bump Band: 'Scrappy' Jud Newcomb, Don Harvey and Mark Andes, and includes all original songs written by one of the best-loved musicians of our time. Patty Griffin graces Never Say Never with her soulful vocals and she and the Tosca Strings can be heard on the final track, the heart wrenching When The Crying Is Over. McLagan recorded and produced Never Say Never at The Doghouse Studios in Manor, Texas, and recorded Where Angels Hide on the Steinway in The Edythe Bates Old Chapel at The International Festival-Institute in Round Top, Texas.
Never Say Never will be released on Proper Records in the UK/Europe on July 7, 2008.

Q5. When is the Bump Band touring? Will you
be coming to my area?
A. Visit the Bump gigs page and myspace for up to the minute tour info.
Join the Bumpzine to receive email alerts when the Bumps are comin' to your neck of the woods.
Q6. Didn't you play on that album with.....?
A. Be sure to check out Ian McLagan's impressive discography.
Contact us if you have something to add to Mac's disco.
Q7. Are the Small Faces the band you were
in with Rod Stewart? What's the difference between Small Faces and
Faces?
A. It is confusing, but here's how it works: The Small Faces
were formed in March 1965 by Steve Marriott, Ronnie Lane, Kenney
Jones and Jimmy Winston. Ian McLagan replaced Winston on November
1st 1965, and Steve left to form Humble Pie with Pete Frampton in
1969. Later that year Ronnie Wood joined Ronnie Lane, Kenney Jones
and Ian McLagan, followed by Rod Stewart to form a new band. When
Warner Bros Records signed us they demanded we keep the name Small
Faces because we'd had hits. We disagreed, but they allowed us to
change the name to Faces in the UK and Europe. This is why the first
album 'First Step' came out as Faces in Europe and as Small Faces
in the US. It has led to much confusion, because we toured as Small
Faces for a year before Warner Bros let us drop the 'Small' from
the name.
Q8. When will you be releasing Troublemaker
on CD?
A. This is our second most frequently asked question (after the Faces reunion). Well, the day has finally arrived! Purchase your signed copy of Here Comes Trouble at maniacrecords.net. See what Mac has to say about it:
The original 'Troublemaker' album remastered, PLUS my EP 'Last Chance To Dance', PLUS three previously unreleased tracks to knock you out!
Q9. Which Small Faces record labels and merchandise
are authorized and Ok to purchase? Do you get royalties?
A. All Sanctuary UK and Universal Small Faces
releases are valid, but we're not happy with Charly's performance
and hardly any video/DVD company pays us.
Q10. Any plans for a Small Faces box set?
A. We're talking about a proper BBC sessions
now that some more tracks have been found.
Q11. How tall are the Small Faces? Who is the shortest
and tallest Small Face?
A. Ronnie Lane and I were the giants in the band at 5 ft 6 ins,
and Kenney Jones and Steve Marriott were the really teeny tiny chaps
at 5 ft 51/2 ins.
Q12. What music do you listen to? Who are
your musical influences?
A. Check out Mac's recommended Hot
List and everything from A
to Z.
Q13. How do I say 'hello' or get an autograph
after a gig?
A. Hang around long enough for me to towel
down and put on a clean shirt and I'll be right out.
Q14. Who started
the spiky, rooster hair-do?
A. It was a mod look. A variation on the 'modernist' hair do.
Q15. Where do
you buy your shoes?
A. I like Campers, but there are no great shoes like in the
sixties anymore, more's the pity.
Q16.
Can I send Ian McLagan & the Bump Band a friend’s request to add me on myspace? How about Facebook?
A. Yes, you can join Ian McLagan & the Bump Band's pals on myspace.
It's a 'FACE' on Facebook - Write on the wall, listen to sounds, send us your pics, and spread some Bump love!
We receive many requests to join additional friends and networking sites, but can’t commit to them all at this time.
Q17.
Can I send you my old albums and books to be signed?
A. Mac will be happy to sign Small Faces and Faces albums and his book, All The Rage, in person at meet & greet sessions following Bump Band gigs. You can also order signed CDs and books directly from Mac at maniacrecords.net and macspages.com.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept items in the mail to be signed as materials could be lost or damaged.
Q18. Can I send a copy of my band’s demo, mp3, or new CD?
A. For copyright reasons, we cannot accept unsolicited materials.
Q19. Can my band open for Ian McLagan & the Bump Band on tour?
A. Support bands are determined by an agreement between the agent and promoters, and it’s out of our hands.
Q20. How do I get Ian McLagan to play on my new album?
A. You are welcome to contact us to submit your music for
review
and consideration. Please email Lynne to request permission to send your music files for session requests.
